CHECK EXAMINATION RESULTS
The results of various academic, entrance and recruitment
examinations held by several Boards/ Institutions/ Commissions
(e.g. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), State Education
Boards, Union Public Service Commission, Staff Selection Commission,
Institute of Chartered Accountants, etc.) are being published
on the Internet by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) since
1997.
A specialized Portal developed for this purpose ( www.results.nic.in
) forms the front end of this mammoth ICT exercise, and has
been extremely popular with students and parents who no longer
need to throng the notice boards anxiously to search for their
roll number, and can check the result from the comfort of
their homes or a nearby cyber cafe.
Important announcements for students are posted on the web
portal both prior to the declaration of the result and after
it is launched on the Net. The process of accessing the results
is quite simple. The student simply needs to type his/her
roll number at the appropriate place and the result/mark sheet
is displayed on the screen.
To disseminate the result more quickly and effectively, NIC
publishes results on multiple channels other than the
web, like
- E-mail
- SMS (Short Message Service)
- IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System)
